The app and compatibility

LidLab applies desktop visual effects based on the lid angle. It requires macOS 14 or later and, for live tracking, an Apple Silicon MacBook with a compatible sensor. The sensor has been verified on MacBook Air M2; other models remain to be confirmed. Screen access is required to apply desktop effects.

Price and payment

The displayed price is €7.99 including tax, paid once with no subscription. The total, currency and taxes are confirmed before you place your order. When sales are open, Polar acts as the transaction’s seller and authorized reseller (merchant of record). Its buyer terms govern payment, billing and refunds.

Delivery and activation

Delivery is digital. Following payment confirmation, your license key is available in the Polar customer portal; download and installation instructions are supplied with your purchase. Internet access is required to activate and validate the license. If your key or download is missing, contact support with your order reference.

One license, one Mac

Your purchase permits personal or professional use of LidLab on one active Mac at a time. Deactivate your previous Mac or contact support before switching devices. Keep your key confidential. The license does not transfer intellectual property rights; third-party component rights and licenses continue to apply. Any reuse must respect permissions and exceptions provided by law.

Updates and support

LidLab updates published for this application are included without a subscription. The app checks for available versions; you choose when to start installation. No feature schedule or unlimited compatibility with future hardware and systems is promised. This does not limit updates required to maintain statutory conformity. Support is available by email.

Withdrawal and refunds

Consumers generally have 14 days after entering the contract to withdraw. For immediately delivered digital content, loss of this right requires the express consents and confirmation required by law. Downloading alone is not sufficient. No refund required by law is excluded.

For withdrawal or a refund, contact the seller on your Polar receipt, or email our support for guidance. Include your name, purchase email, order date and reference, and your request. Do not send passwords or full payment card details.

Withdrawal request template

Withdrawal for digital content

Statutory guarantees

Statutory guarantees remain applicable. For one-off digital content under French consumer law, the seller covers conformity defects existing at delivery and appearing within two years. Subject to legal conditions, you can seek conformity at no cost, a price reduction or contract termination. Contact the seller or our support to exercise these rights.

Data and usage

The visual effect processes images in memory on your Mac without saving or uploading them. License activation and update checks use a network connection. The website counter measures folds made by visitors in the demo, not sales. See the Privacy page for details about the data involved.

Privacy

Complaints and disputes

First send your written complaint to support or the seller identified on your receipt. Consumers retain access to the competent mediation service and courts provided by law. Details of the applicable consumer mediation service will be published before sales open.

Scope of these terms

Mandatory consumer rights remain protected, including those of your country of residence when applicable. These terms do not exclude any liability or guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded. Later changes do not retroactively reduce rights attached to an existing order.
